| I may have chosen one of the least known shortline railroads in Norway so one should think that rolling stock would be a real challenge. Luckily the line in its standard gauge years used standardized NSB equipment, so there are numerous craftman kits to chose from. All of them has to be built though so it might take some years, or rather decades, for me to complete. I have no locomotives or railcars yet that fit with the prototype so for the time being I use a german V15 switcher and a Robel maintenance engine from Brawa as my only motive power on the line. On these pages I will present the rolling stock that exist and is planned on the Grimstad-line. | ||

SjB
no.9 (NSB type 20b)This tank engine has been rented from Sjuskogbanen. It is a tank engine which is very well suited for the Grimstad Line. It is used for both passenger and freight trains. |

NSB
Skd206.44 (Sk 44)These little engines were produced in a number of 37 units from 1936 to 1939. They had a Scania Vabis engine producing a "staggering" 96 HP. One of these were stationed at Nelaug, but as far as I know they were not used on the Grimstad-Line, as the need for shunting on the small line was limited. In my model version of Grimstad however, a small loco like this is perfect for taking care of Grimstad's shunting needs. My good friend Halvor Sannæs is building this loco for me from a brass kit. The prototype number 44 is now preserved at the museum railway "Setesdalsbanen". |

Steam
locomotive NSB type 21, number 373One of my modeling friends, Steinar Jeppestøl, has provided me with a couple of pictures of a steam locomotive with this particular number in Grimstad. I have therefore decided to model this particular engine. The brass kit Steinar and one other modeler is making for the type 21 is eagerly awaited. This is going to be one of the main locomotives on the Grimstad line. The picture is of a similar locomotive. |

Railcar
NSB type BM87This railcar is very typical for many shortline railroads in Norway, but a model for it doesn't exist yet. It is at the top of my wish-list! This railcar was often seen with the small egg-like baggagecar type Gx trailing behind it( see below) |

Lots more on my wish list... Cars: |

Baggagecar
type GxI have built one of these from a resin kit. It only misses its lettering before it's done... and the railcar to pull it of course. |
||
T3 type 1I am building two of these lovely little cars at the moment, but I need need at least 5-6 more of them. I am building them without all the poles as they will be used for the iron-ore trains. The iron-ore was transported in 6 small containers that was sitting within a wooden square fixed to the decking on top of the car. These cars are made from a brass kit which can be obtained from Scandinavian Miniatures. |
